Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola is open to leaving the club in light of interest from other La Liga teams.

The 27-year-old Alvaro Odriozola reportedly wishes to leave Real Madrid this summer, with Real Sociedad and Athletic Club interested in signing him.
According to the Spanish journalist Jorge C. Picon, Alvaro Odriozola has made a decision regarding his future with Real Madrid. The 27-year-old defender is prepared to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. Real Sociedad and Athletic Club are interested in signing him.

Alvaro Odriozola appeared to be Real Madrid’s long-term solution at right back when he arrived in July 2018 from Real Sociedad. The Spaniard had already made his debut for his country’s national team. And both experts and admirers believed he would succeed Dani Carvajal in the long run.

In contrast, the 27-year-old has failed to make an impact at Real Madrid over the past five years. Moreover, he has only logged 87 minutes of game action for Los Blancos this season. Odriozola’s future appears to lie outside of Real Madrid, although he may remain in La Liga.

Jorge C. Picon asserts that the Spanish national team defender is willing to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. And Real Sociedad and Athletic Club are interested in signing him. Last summer, both clubs expressed interest in the former Real Madrid player.
Odriozola’s decision to depart Real Madrid is rational, given the Merengues’ desire to acquire a right-back this summer. In addition, the reigning La Liga champions have expressed interest in several players, including Trent Alexander-Arnold. Therefore, the 27-year-old defender must leave Santiago Bernabeu to revive his career.

Considering his history with Real Sociedad, relocating to the Basque country is also logical. And returning to La Real should benefit him if he regains his finest form. Alternatively, Athletic Club can offer him regular playing time during the 2023/24 season.

Real Madrid will separate ways with the 27-year-old defender without hesitation. Instead of waiting for him to become a free agent the following year, they will be able to recoup some funds from his departure. It will be intriguing to see which La Liga club acquires the Spaniard.
