Revealed: Chelsea near to agreeing £80m on most targeted midfielder
According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Chelsea are optimistic that they would be able to secure a deal for Moises Caicedo that will be for a total of £80 million.
Caicedo has already reached an agreement with the Blues over personal matters, and the possibility of his move to Stamford Bridge is now inching closer.

The London club has had their sights set on the 21-year-old player for quite some time, and he is thought to be interested in making the transfer.
A report from Football Insider from the previous month (June 29) disclosed that Chelsea had initiated official negotiations with Brighton regarding the Ecuador international.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team has been exerting a lot of effort to recruit the midfielder, and recent conversations that have taken place in the past few hours have brought them closer to an £80 million deal.
As part of their preparations to make an official offer for the Brighton star, the Londoners have reportedly begun shipping out senior stars, as reported by Football Insider on June 22.
The transfer of Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City for a rumoured cost of £25 million has already taken place.
Mason Mount, a promising player for Chelsea, was sold to Manchester United for £55 million, while Kai Havertz was traded to Arsenal, a team that competes with Chelsea in the Premier League.
Caicedo was unable to complete a transfer to Arsenal during the January transfer window, but he was able to extend his current deal at the AMEX Stadium earlier this year, which will keep him there until 2027.
The midfielder played for the team coached by Roberto de Zerbi last year, making 43 appearances and contributing one goal and one assist in a season that resulted in the team qualifying for European competition.
In order to get Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea has reportedly already shelled out over £84 million.
Romelu Lukaku is also expected to rejoin Pochettino’s squad, despite the player’s protests.
In other developments, Chelsea decreased the asking price for the player by £15 million after the agreement fell through.
