Romano discloses that Napoli want their star to break transfer record kept by Chelsea-owned striker
An expert on the Italian transfer market named Fabrizio Romano has said that Napoli is interested in signing Victor Osimhen in the hopes that he will break the record for the most money transferred out of Serie A, which is currently held by Romelu Lukaku.

In August of 2021, Chelsea set the Italian transfer record when they re-signed the Belgium international for a cost of 113 million euros. However, the deal did not go as intended, and he is currently playing on loan for Inter Milan.
Lukaku also became Chelsea’s most expensive player in history, a record that stood until Argentina’s World Cup-winning midfielder Enzo Fernández was acquired from Benfica for a sum of 121 million euros during the winter transfer market. Lukaku remained the most expensive player in Chelsea’s history until that record was broken.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all interested in Osimhen, but Napoli has not yet decided how much they will ask for the Nigerian international player.

Osimhen’s stock has increased after an amazing season with Napoli, during which he was instrumental in the club’s first Serie A championship in 33 years. He is currently the favorite to win the top scorer award with 23 goals to his name, and there are only four matches left in the 2022-2023 season.
Romano made this statement while participating in the House of Champions podcast hosted by CBS Soccer. He said, “There’s a possibility, a concrete possibility, for Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli.”
“The impression I get is that they aim to break the record for the greatest sale in the history of the Serie A with Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Chelsea for 120 million euros. This is the feeling I have.
They are looking for more than that in order to purchase Victor Osimhen. This is the general sentiment felt all across Napoli.
To name a few clubs that are interested, I’ll start with Bayern Munich, then move on to PSG, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
These four clubs have expressed interest in Osimhen, but they are all waiting for Napoli to disclose the asking price before making a bid. “Okay, here’s the price tag; you can come with your offer,” said Napoli. Because of this, the procedure is still moving very slowly.
