The youngster that Arsenal could prefer to go for if Thomas Partey decides to leave
Today, Arsenal just announced the signing of Declan Rice, but there are already rumors that the club may be done with midfielders.
Granit Xhaka’s return to Germany necessitated the signing of a minimum of one midfielder by Mikel Arteta this summer.
Thomas Partey has since been cited as a player the Gunners could potentially sell in addition to Granit Xhaka, despite the fact that Xhaka’s transfer was a done deal when initial reports broke the news.
Obviously, if Partey is transferred, Arsenal’s midfield would be depleted. And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, if Partey departs, the Gunners may turn to Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

Lavia is desired by a number of clubs, including Liverpool, but Arsenal could enter the contest if Partey leaves, according to Jacobs.
Pep Guardiola hailed Lavia as a ‘incredible’ youthful talent, and despite Southampton’s relegation, he was the star of the show for Southampton.
The Saints are seeking £50 million for Lavia, but as Jacobs explains in this statement, other clubs do not believe he is worth that much just yet.
Arsenal has exceeded the £200 million mark in expenditure this summer. Any agreement for Lavia will be contingent on outgoings, with Partey being essential.
One for the long run
If Partey were to depart and Romeo Lavia were to replace him, Arsenal would be acquiring an exceptional young player.
The only question is whether or not Lavia is ready to make an immediate impact and be a player of sufficient caliber in the Premier League and Champions League.
Lavia would be a valuable addition to Arsenal regardless of the situation. The only question is whether he can step up immediately.
