Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano presents GIVEMESPORT with an exclusive update on discussions for the two players, and Tottenham Hotspur express their appreciation for Gent’s Gift Orban and Lille’s Jonathan David at Hotspur Way.

Ange Postecoglou, the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed his desire to bring in a new center forward to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the transfer market closes one week from now.

As a result of the transfer of club record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for the amount of £100 million this summer, Tottenham is looking to add a striker to their roster.

The Spurs are currently relying on Richarlison to lead their attack through the middle of the field, but they may look to the market for additional players to reinforce their ranks in the final third.

According to Football Insider, in order for Gent to sell Orban this summer, they are looking for a price that can break the record for the amount of money paid for a player in the Belgian Pro League.

After having just sold Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, the same publication claims that Fulham are also interested in signing the Nigerian striker this summer. Fulham has recently sold Mitrovic to Al-Hilal.

However, Orban’s contract is set to last until the summer of 2027, which indicates that Gent are under no rush to sell their greatest asset, despite the fact that they signed him away from Staebek in January.

In the meantime, Italian writer Rudy Galetti recently revealed to GIVEMESPORT that Lille have set David’s transfer cost at somewhere in the neighborhood of £55 million.

Ben Jacobs, a reporter, stated on the podcast The Last Word on Spurs that the 23-year-old player would be interested in joining for Tottenham for the current campaign.

David continues to be a fascinating individual. If we are discussing prices, then that is a very hefty cost, somewhere in the neighborhood of €60 million to €65 million (£50 million to £55 million), although it could come down because David is interested in the transfer.

“This is an interesting one because [he was] the only name that Tottenham were seriously exploring if Kane left under [Fabio] Paratici when they first got wind, probably around March or April, that the Kane situation might be changing against them.”

“David was the only name they proposed to begin with, but that was under Paratici and [Antonio] Conte or as an interim solution. Postecoglou is going to once more give his voice at this time.

And Romano asserts that Tottenham is interested in Orban and David, but that “there has still been no concrete negotiation.”
