Arsenal is currently in “well advanced” talks to secure a signing for the 3rd of January. “Very soon”
According to Teradeportes, an Ecuadorian publication, Arsenal are reportedly close to completing the transfer of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
In an effort to finalize the transfer of the midfielder, who is now 21 years old, the London club has been in consistent communication with the Brighton club.
They have already tried bidding with £65 million and £70 million, both of which were rejected, but according to The Sun, they are planning to try again with a bid of £75 million.
Teradeportes in South America is now reporting that a deal could be reached in the coming hours, following reports of a new improved bid that was reportedly submitted earlier.
The source claims that negotiations between Arsenal and Brighton have reached a “very advanced” stage.
Teradeportes claims that a decision could be made very soon regarding the purchase price, despite the fact that this is the aspect that is the most complicated.
This month, Arsenal strengthened their roster by adding forward Leandro Trossard and defender Jakub Kiwior, who came to the club from Brighton and Spezia, respectively. Both players had previously played for other clubs.
The latter is versatile enough to play either central defense or holding midfield, but the club still needs another specialist number six player.
The addition of Caicedo would be the best possible signing to cap off this transfer window.
Arsenal’s fantastic run for the title has relied heavily on Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, but if either of them were to suffer an injury, the team’s hopes of winning the league would be put in jeopardy.
As a result, Arsenal requires quality midfield reinforcement. Caicedo provides the club with an existing solution to their problem.
Since making his debut in the Premier League one year ago, the Ecuadorian has not committed a single mistake, in contrast to a new signing.
The most significant challenge right now is the remaining transfer fee. It would appear that Brighton would be interested in a deal worth approximately 80 million pounds for the talented player.
Even though Arsenal has not yet lived up to their expectations, the South Coast club may eventually succeed in getting them to give in to their demands.
The family of Mikel Arteta does not currently have any other options available to them that have the same pedigree.
Youri Tielemans, who currently plays for Leicester City, has been mentioned as a possible transfer target; however, the Belgian player primarily plays in the central midfield position rather than the defensive midfield position.
