‘weird news’ – Spurs player reveals injury update ahead of Man Utd match

Hugo Lloris, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, believes his injury is not in good shape after he was unable to play the entire match against Newcastle United this afternoon.

The French international conceded five goals in the first twenty-one minutes of the match at St James’ Park, effectively ending Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the Premier League’s top four and qualifying for the Champions League.

Lloris failed to materialize for the second half and was replaced by Fraser Forster, who had performed well while the 36-year-old was recently incapacitated with a knee injury.

The goalkeeper disclosed after the game that he believes the injury to be a hip-area muscle strain caused by kicking the ball and that he is not optimistic about his recovery.
On Thursday evening, Tottenham will face Manchester United in north London, and on Sunday, they will travel to Liverpool for a difficult match.

“My injury does not sound good,” he told thesoccerstand, “I don’t know if it’s a muscle, but I felt something around my hip when I kicked.” It doesn’t sound appealing.

When I undergo a scan tomorrow or in two days, we will know more.

Lloris’ performance in the first half was disappointing, and at least two of Newcastle’s goals appeared to have been preventable.

Tottenham has been aware for some time that there must be a succession plan for transferring the goalkeeping torch to a long-term replacement; however, there appears to be no strategy, as is the case with many other aspects.
