Declan Rice maintains he does not want to leave West Ham, despite claims by the club’s owner that he desires a move and Arsenal’s interest.

The West Ham midfielder contributed to the club’s victory over Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night.

Immediate discussion shifted to Rice’s future, with the expectation that he will pursue greener pastures.

Rice’s status has risen at West Ham, but he has declined a new contract, so the east London club must cash in this summer.

The midfielder is interested in playing in the Champions League, as are a number of elite clubs across Europe.

David Sullivan, chairman of the Hammers, appeared to signal Rice’s departure, citing a promise made to the player, as he told TalkSPORT: “I believe it must be. We assured him he could leave. He was intent on leaving.

This season, you could not ask for a player who has been more dedicated to our team. Eventually, he must depart, and we must find a replacement or several replacements.

It is not something we wish to occur. We made him an offer of £200,000 per week 18 months ago.

He declined the offer. Staying at West Ham during this time has cost him £10 million in foregone wages. And he wishes to leave. “You cannot retain an unwilling player.”

Rice was however questioned by a young fan who captured the scene on video and uploaded it to TikTok.

He asked the midfielder where he would like to go, but the England international responded, “Nowhere, I’m with West Ham.”

When asked where he would go if he were forced to abandon West Ham, Rice insisted, “I don’t, West Ham is my one.”
Virajplays4 posted the video on TikTok, claiming it was shot on Saturday.

Arsenal appears to be the frontrunner if Rice leaves the London Stadium. They are preparing for Granit Xhaka’s departure, which would leave a void in the midfield.

Prior to a return to the Champions League, Arsenal are also seeking to bolster their roster.

Chelsea, where Rice began his career as a teenager, have been mentioned as a potential destination for the majority of his career, but their midfield is already stacked, with British-record signing Enzo Fernandez among the options available to new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Manchester United has added Casemiro and appears to be exploring additional options. Manchester City could enter the race if Ilkay Gundogan leaves, while Bayern Munich has also been mentioned as a potential destination should Declan Rice wish to quit the Premier League.
