When Granit Xhaka scored the first goal of the game for Arsenal against Wolves on the final day of the regular season, his teammates were eager to celebrate alongside him.
The Swiss midfielder was participating in what is widely believed to be the last game he would ever play for the club when he scored the first of a pair of goals in as many minutes.
As Xhaka enters the final 12 months of his contract with Arsenal, a transfer to Germany is expected to be finalized at the conclusion of this current campaign.
If this day is going to be his last, he got off to a fantastic start to it.
The run down the right side of the field by Gabriel Jesus was greeted by his teammate’s header at the back post, much to the delight of the home crowd and the Arsenal XI.
As soon as the 30-year-old player looked around after scoring the goal, his teammates immediately surrounded him and gave him a large group hug close to the goal.
After that, it appeared as though the players were sending him a congratulatory and final departure message by giving him a kind pat on the head with gladness.
A spectacle that many people wouldn’t have predicted even a little over a year ago was the presence of a large number of individuals wearing Xhaka scarves.
Just a few minutes later, after making it 2-0, he went to sleep with his head in the clouds.
A jinxing run by Bukayo Saka was played into the hands of Martin Odegaard, who flicked the ball in Xhaka’s direction. His finish was all that was required to throw everybody into a happy meltdown, and it did exactly that.
After scoring the goal, he immediately raced over to the bench to celebrate, high-fiving a member of the coaching staff on his way there. Mohamed Elneny was waiting for him there.

After that, they gave each other a warm embrace, and then the rest of the crew came over to join in the celebration of this momentous occasion on this momentous day.
