If moving Caicedo to Arsenal means suspending pursuit of Rice, then this should be done.
There is a possibility that Declan Rice is the most important player for Arsenal, but it is unlikely that the transaction will be smooth.
His departure from West Ham could take longer than originally anticipated if the club attempts to “stress” the other clubs who have expressed interest in acquiring his services.
It would be prudent for Arsenal to lay some money aside for his transaction. Following that, they work toward making some headway on some sales that they can rapidly close out. One transaction that can be finished very rapidly is one involving Caicedo.
There are rumors that the Ecuadorian and Arsenal have already reached an agreement on personal terms; now, all that the Gunners ought to do is pay the money the Seagulls want before Chelsea, Manchester United, or any other Premier League team competing for his talents reaches his asking price.
It’s possible that Caicedo will come out ahead in the business transaction between Rice and Arteta and Edu. I’m aware that many people won’t believe that. Caicedo has the option of leaving Brighton for approximately 70 million.
If a team wants to sign Rice, though, they will think twice about paying £100 million for his swoop because some teams are able to pay that sum without batting an eye.
Caicedo has the potential to take Arsenal to the next level. The Gunners could benefit from his ability to play virtually any position on the field due to his versatility.
He has also been successful at right back for De Zerbi, which means that, similar to Zinchenko, he may play the inverted right back role from the right back position.
In this role, the right back drifts into the midfield and dictates play while also causing problems for the opposition, much as the former Manchester City left-back has been doing.
Caicedo is an absolute necessity for Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta should move quickly to secure his signature before turning his attention to Arsenal teammate Declan Rice, the transfer of whom could take some time.
I have a feeling that West Ham would like to prolong the pursuit of the 24-year-old for as long as they possibly can.
