Premier League teams hunt Man United star as Ten Hag approaches on Onana’s move

As they pursue a new goalkeeper, Manchester United are eager to make their second summer signing as soon as possible.

Erik ten Hag is eager to greet new arrival No. 2 following last week’s acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea. Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Inter Milan, appears increasingly likely to become United’s new goalkeeper.

David de Gea has become a free agent, and while United executives and his representatives continue to negotiate a new contract, Ten Hag is being proactive by scouring for a replacement. Due to the club’s prospective Financial Fair Play issues, they will have to sell before they can make large purchases.

Here are the most recent Old Trafford transfer rumors.

Forest and Everton are interested in Elanga

Nottingham Forest and Everton are interested in signing Anthony Elanga of Manchester United.

The 21-year-old Elanga has been extensively linked with a move away from Old Trafford following his lack of playing time last season. Under Erik ten Hag, he appeared in only 16 Premier League matches, and he could be permitted to leave this summer.

Forest and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Elanga, while Borussia Dortmund and an unnamed Premier League club have also expressed interest.

The young forward burst into the United first team for the first time during the 2020/21 season under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since then, he has made 55 appearances across all competitions, but has only scored four goals and provided four assists.

Ten Hag desperate for Onana

Erik ten Hag is eager for Manchester United to sign Andre Onana before he takes his team on a preseason tour of the United States.

United and Inter Milan have yet to agree on a price for Onana, and the club is currently without a starting goalkeeper following David De Gea’s 12-year departure. United is unwilling to meet Inter’s £52 million asking price for Cameroon international Onana, despite ongoing negotiations.

United believe that £45 million is a fair price for Onana and are optimistic that a compromise can be reached before the squad departs for the United States on Wednesday.

Inter must raise funds in order to acquire Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on a permanent basis. United is optimistic that this will result in a fee agreement for Onana.

United’s opening bid of £38 million was rejected, but Onana has informed Inter that he wishes to reunite with Ten Hag, under whom he played at Ajax, and that personal circumstances will not be an issue.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Declan Rice could trigger a sequence of events that enables Manchester United to complete a deal for Sofan Amrabat.

United has been linked to Morocco sensation Amrabat as they prepare for Champions League play under Erik ten Hag. The midfielder, who excelled for Ten Hag’s Utrecht as a youth, is entering the final year of his contract with Fiorentina.

United is concerned about their finances, as a £60 million transfer for Mason Mount has eaten into their summer transfer budget. Rice’s impending transfer to Arsenal may allow Manchester United to generate funds through a sale of their own player.

The Independent reports that West Ham remains interested in Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay. The issue pertains to the Rice transfer, with the Hammers reportedly waiting for that transaction to be finalized before pursuing the Scotland star.
