Six players received a standing ovation for scoring 100 Premier League goals without receiving a penalty.

The ‘100 club’ of the Premier League is a legendary collection of English football’s greatest players, a group of celebrated goal scorers who have scored 100 goals in the division.

There are currently 33 members of the illustrious group, although only six have scored a century of Premier League goals without using a penalty.

The following six Premier League players have joined the “100 club” without taking a penalty.

Les Ferdinand

Les Ferdinand is the Premier League player with the most goals scored without a penalty, with 149 goals in a long career.

During the early seasons of the English Premier League, Ferdinand was one of the best forwards, scoring 60 goals in three league seasons with Queens Park Rangers.

In 1995, he joined Newcastle for £6 million and was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year after scoring 25 goals in his first season at St. James’ Park.

In 2020, Ferdinand told The Athletic, “I continue to believe that taking penalties is an art, and I chose not to partake in that art.”

“I tip my hat to those young men who took them. Looking at Matt Le Tissier’s record reveals that it was extraordinary.

Tony Cole

Andy Cole was another influential figure of the 1990s who burst onto the Premier League scene during the 1993–1994 season.

Cole won the Premier League Golden Boot and the PFA Young Player of the Year awards in his first season at Newcastle.

This comes after the Magpies’ record-setting 34-goal season.

Cole’s performance for Newcastle resulted in a British transfer record of £7 million for Manchester United.

He won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and the Champions League during his seven seasons at Old Trafford.

He scored 121 goals for the Red Devils in all competitions, including 100 in the Premier League without receiving a penalty.

Cole played for Blackburn, Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth, and Sunderland later in his career.

He ranks fourth all-time in Premier League scoring with 187 goals.

Emile Heskey

The 110 Premier League goals scored by Emile Heskey, none of which were scored from the penalty spot, should be respected for a player whose goalscoring record was frequently criticized.

Around the turn of the century, Heskey burst onto the scene with Leicester, where he participated in three League Cup finals in four seasons.

Following a club-record transfer to Liverpool, Heskey enjoyed the most productive period of his career.

In his first full season, the forward scored 22 goals across all competitions, helping Gerard Houllier’s squad win the UEFA Cup, FA Cup, and League Cup.

Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs is second in Premier League appearances and one of a handful of midfielders to score 100 Premier League goals.

Giggs achieved the most accolades in English football history during his career with Manchester United.

13 league titles and 33 trophies won at Old Trafford during his career.

He scored in each of the Premier League’s first 21 seasons, from the league’s inception in 1992/93 to 2012/13.

Giggs scored two penalties among his 109 career goals, but both came in a 3-1 April 2010 victory over Tottenham.

Paul Crouch

Peter Crouch joined the Premier League’s “100 club” in 2017.

The historic moment occurred against Everton when the forward converted Marko Arnautovic’s cross for his 100th Premier League goal.

He was the oldest player to accomplish the feat at 36 years and two days, surpassing Ryan Giggs’ previous record.

Crouch scored 48 of his first 100 Premier League goals with his head, making him the league’s all-time leader with 53.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane is the most recent player to reach 100 points in the Premier League without scoring a penalty.

After scoring against Crystal Palace in 2021, the Senegalese forward reached the Premier League century mark.

In doing so, he set a new Premier League record by becoming the first player to score in nine consecutive games against the same opponent.

Mane began his career in English football with Southampton, where he scored 21 league goals in two seasons.

In 2015 against Aston Villa, he set a Premier League record for the fastest hat-trick by scoring three goals in 176 seconds.

He also won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2018/19, becoming the third African footballer to score 100 Premier League goals after Didier Drogba and Mohamed Salah.
