Mauricio Pochettino deals with Chelsea transfer clash as Napoli star makes Man United conclusion

Kim Min-jae has decided to join Manchester United this summer, while Erik ten Hag’s side and Chelsea continue to pursue a deal for teammate Victor Osimhen. The 26-year-old defender has been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford for months, despite joining Napoli only a year ago.

The South Korean international excelled in the club’s Serie A championship-winning season, but it is believed that his contract contains a €50 million (£43 million) release clause. The Blues acquired Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in the summer of 2017, with the Italian club replacing him with Fenerbache’s Jae.

Koulibaly has toiled in his first season at Stamford Bridge, and reports indicate that the Senegalese defender could be sold this summer, just one year after he moved to West London for £30 million. Napoli is anticipating a flurry of proposals for Osimhen this summer after setting the Nigerian’s price at £130 million.
It appears that a number of Napoli’s key players could be poached by Europe’s elite clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester United pursing deals for Kim Min-jae and Osimhen.
Il Mattino of Naples reports that Manchester United are in dominant position to sign Osimhen this summer, with their interest intensifying as Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain continue to monitor the Nigerian’s situation.

Sunday, Chelsea sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old during Napoli’s loss to Monza, and according to a report, the same figures responsible for persuading Kim to join Manchester United are attempting to make the Osimhen deal a reality. United first expressed interest in Osimhen last August, and Napoli are open to a sale this summer for the right price.

Napoli officials believe the Nigerian forward is becoming distracted by interest from Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming campaign. Despite president Aurelio de Laurentiis’s statement that Osimhen will not be sold, there is a developing belief that Napoli will sell the player this summer if they receive an offer that they deem impossible to refuse.
