Why Sadio Mane and Joao Cancelo may not play for Bayern Munich next season.

Sadio Mane and Joao Cancelo ‘have no future at Bayern Munich’ and are expected to leave the German club this summer.

Last summer, Senegalese forward Mane, 31, joined the Bundesliga champions from Liverpool in a transaction worth an initial £27.4 million.

In an injury-plagued season, he tallied 12 goals for Bayern, but will be best remembered for his altercation with Leroy Sane after Bayern’s 3-0 Champions League loss to Manchester City.
Mane’s playing time has been limited throughout the entire season, and little has altered since Thomas Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann as manager.

He was only substituted in with five minutes remaining in Saturday’s 6-0 victory over Schalke, though he assisted Noussair Mazraoui’s late goal.
According to Sky Sport Germany, this is a ‘clear indicator’ that Mane will be placed on Bayern’s transfer list this summer. Only Premier League clubs are likely to be able to afford Mane’s €20m [£17.4m] salary, according to the source.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s 28-year-old right back Cancelo has spent the second half of the season on loan with Bayern Munich.

During the period, he has appeared in 19 games, scoring once and assisting on six others.

His loan agreement included a €70m [£60m] option for Bayern to purchase Cancelo from City this summer, but according to Sky, this is not probable despite the possibility of Bayern negotiating a lower price.

Cancelo has stated that he will not return to City after falling out of favor with Pep Guardiola. According to reports, Barcelona is interested in bringing him on loan for the upcoming season.
Bayern are in a tight competition for the Bundesliga championship. They are one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund with two matches remaining in the season.

They will host RB Leipzig this Saturday before traveling to Cologne on May 27 in the afternoon.

This Sunday, Dortmund will travel to Augsburg before hosting Mainz.

This would be the only trophy won at the Allianz Arena during a disappointing season, with Bayern losing 4-1 on aggregate to City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and falling to Freiburg in the same round of the German Cup.
